On Mother’s day May 13, 2018, chefs at Howard Johnson Bengaluru Hebbal will bring their moms along to their workplace and show off their culinary skills by cooking their mother’s recipe for guests!
The hotel is celebrating the day with an ode to all moms.
Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring the mother in the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. The modern holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew’s Methodist Church in West Virginia in the US. Anna wanted to honour her mother by continuing the work she started and to set aside a day to honour all mothers because she believed a mother is “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world”.
HoJo also has a surprise gift in store for guests who bring along their moms and cook her favourite dish. The winning entry will get a HoJo surprise for the entire family.
The chefs will cook recipes of nostalgic elements of love at Ma Ka Khana which include Dal Ki pitthi and sweet chilla (indanise sweet crepe), Bhuna Mutton Laccha Saag, Laau Chingari, Chicken Thupka, Gutthi Vankaya, Sarson ka saag and Butter Chicken, Rose cookies, Bhindi Bhujiya, Aloo and Gobi parathas, Chicken and Egg Biriyani, Aloo patal rasa and Odiya Murgi Jhol.
